Bingham Cricket Club announce new partnership as they look to expand the number of teams they will have to compete in Nottinghamshire competitions
A community cricket club has announced exciting news about its development and plans for the future.
Bingham Cricket Club has announced a new partnership with Croxton Kerrial Sports and Social Club.
The plan will enable Bingham to redevelop the ground’s cricket square for their sole use next year.
A spokesman from the club said they are now looking for players to join their expanding number of teams.
The initial three-year partnership will allow Bingham to play its Saturday 3rd team cricket home games at Croxton.
They will also launch a new Saturday 4th team, which will compete in the South Nottingham Cricket League.
Manager Paul Maylard-Mason said: ‘We’re delighted to link up with Croxton Kerrial Sports and Social Club as we have a wealth of talented young players coming through at Bingham and want to ensure continued opportunities to play cricket exist for all our members.”
Bingham’s first and second teams will continue to play at Butt Field in Bingham, but the new agreement will give the club a more permanent second home after short spells at other venues.
Bingham are embarking on an ambitious recruitment drive over the winter and are appealing to players of all standards to join their winter training programme.

"We have teams to suit players of all standards and can give opportunities for people that want to play every week, as well as more occasionally,” said Maylard-Mason.
"With our Saturday 1sts in Division C, 2nds in J, 3rds in L, and 4ths in N, we now cater to anyone from those looking to pick up a bat again for the first time or experienced players targeting higher levels.
“All are welcome.”
The club plays its teams in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League and its 1stsachieved a solid mid-table result last season.
Bingham also offers Sunday cricket and midweek evening cricket.
Winter training for the club runs every Sunday starting in January,
6.30pm to 8pm. at Ratcliffe College’s Indoor Sports Hall, with four lanes available.
