Entries open for Caythorpe Dash 5k and 10k annual run on Sunday September 11

This year’s Caythorpe Dash will set off from the Hammond Pavillion, Old Lincoln Road, Caythorpe (Lincs) on Sunday, September 11.

The 10k race will start at 10am, and the 5k race will depart soon after, at 10.20am.

The event will raise money towards the upkeep of the village playing fields where many of the local sporting events are held.

Canicross races will be held at both distances which allows people the opportunity to complete the races with their dogs.

Juniors from 12 upwards are also welcome to take part.

Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to enjoy cold water, energy bars or biscuits, and hot and cold drinks.

There will also be the famous Caythorpe Cake fest where competitors can enjoy various homemade cakes for free.

All competitors will get a medal. and there is an opportunity to purchase a tee-shirt at a reasonable cost and for those who wish to do so, to donate to the village

tree planting fund.

Printable certificates of completion and photos of competitors are also available to download for free.

The overall winning female and male in both the 10K and 5K will get free entry into the next Caythorpe Dash Event.

They will also receive a £50 gift voucher for a meal in the local pub – the Red Lion.

The Lucky Winner from the over 50 Age Group in the 10K (drawn from the hat) will get free entry into the next Caythorpe Dash Event.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three female and male finishers in the 10K and 5K races, as well to the first female and male in the 10K over-50 age group.

Trophies will also be given to the top three finishers in the 12 – 15 age group in the 5K (either female or male).

The event is open to runners of all ages and abilities and will be run using their chip timing system.
