James Humphreys has been unveiled by Ollerton Town as the new manager of the club, their seventh within a year.

A new manager will be the seventh man in charge at one particular football club in 12 months.

James Humphreys has been unveiled by Ollerton Town as their new manager after the mutually agreed departure of Craig Collins and Tom Chambers from the position.

Collins and Chambers ushered in a period of stability and managed the club's first team for over six months.

During this time the duo broke a 196-day lose streak and got the club their first win in over six months when they defeated Swallownest 3-2.

Humphreys is an armed forces veteran who served for 23 years and was deployed several times.

He has experience at several clubs and is the former head of goalkeeping at the Lincoln City Academy.

"I am happy to take my first steps into management," said Humphreys.

"It is a big task ahead but one I'm looking forward to tackling head-on."

"James is a well-respected UEFA B coach with a wealth of experience of the NCEL from his time at Hallam, Worksop Town, and Barton Town," said a spokesman from Ollerton Town Football Club.

Humphreys has already begun to make inroads into the role before his first game in charge.

The club announced a partnership with Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme that will see players potentially be used for the club's games in the Northern Counties East League Division One competition.

Humphreys will face his baptism of fire on Tuesday when the side travels to Armthorpe Welfare (kick-off 7.45pm).
