After Aaron Charlesworth had gone without scoring and Steven Ryder fell for 13, Fernando formed a 69-run stand with Ryan Charlesworth.

The Balderton skipper was then run out for 31 with Jamie Scates-Veale following soon after for seven.

This brought Attewell to the wicket and he batted until the close to finish on 53 not out after Fernando had fallen for 63.

Jamie Gilbertson also added 26 but Thoresby Colliery were quick to make in-roads into the Balderton target.

Kieran Walker and Danny Tyson put on an opening stand of 90 until the latter was caught by Aaron Charlesworth off the bowling of Ryan Charlesworth for 47.

The wicket didn't stall the home side's momentum though as Lee Willis joined Walker to add a further 57 runs for the second wicket.

Walker was then trapped leg before by Aaron Charlesworth for 52 with Willis going the same way to a Scates-Veale delivery for 40.

Aaron Charlesworth had John Skinner caught by Ryder for 20 for his second wicket of the game while Scates-Veale also completed his brace when he dismissed Jack Waring cheaply.

However, Avindu Pathirana proved vital to the home side as he hit an unbeaten 32 to steer Thoresby Colliery to victory with more than three overs to spare.

The defeat leaves Balderton second-from-bottom in the table and 13 points adrift of safety ahead of Saturday's home match with Gedling & Sherwood.

Balderton's second team were beaten by 19 runs in their home South Nottinghamshire League Division F match with West Bridgford Legion.

The visitors had been bowled out for 151 with Paul Colcomb claiming 4-40 from 12 overs and Tim Clipsham taking 3-32 from a similar stint.

Clipsham made 25 in the Balderton reply while Alan Jackson was unbeaten on 56 at the close of their innings as they were bowled out for 132.
