Southwell Bandits win their NLD Rugby Competition




Southwell Rugby Club have celebrated their 3rds winning the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire League Two central competition.

The side known as the Bandits secured the league after a strong season of performances.

The captain of the side Malc Hazard was awarded as the club’s volunteer of the month, while vice-captain Stu Perkins was awarded as the Clubman of the Year — rounding off a successful season for the team.

The side took to the field for a friendly match against Worksop 1sts on the weekend and won 35-17.

Graham Blood achieved man-of-the-match in the game which saw Charley Aitkenhead score twice.

The captain and Will Travis scored the other tries.

The Bandits will now have a break from games but will still conduct training over the summer to prepare them for their next campaign.
