Notts County championships sees Newark Swimming Club members compete and set personal bests





Four members of the Newark Swimming Club qualified to compete at the 2024 Notts County Championships.

The qualifications were held over several weekends in February.

Eleven year old Daniel Martin finished the 50m breaststroke event in a time of 51-60.

Lucia Chivers, 12, qualified in several events.

She swam 2-47.47 in the 200m freestyle setting a new personal best record.

Chivers achieved 3-16/12 in the 200m individual medley and 32.22 in the 50m freestyle earning her fifth place in the final.

She also swam 40.09 in the 50m backstroke.

All of these times were new personal bests for Chivers who also swam 1-13.75 in the 100m freestyle.

Isaac Shaw, 16, swam 31-54 in the 50m butterfly setting a new personal best for himself in the process.

Ben Mason, 18, swam in three events, setting a personal best of 31-88 in the 50m butterfly.

He also swam 1-19.02 in the 100m backstroke and 34-98 in the 50m backstroke.
