Newark Town Ladies match Keyworth in challenging 5-5 draw in Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Division One fixture
A tough 5-5 draw against Keyworth United in the Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Division One competition saw Newark Town have to show resilience to walk away with a competition point against tough opponents.
Seventh placed Keyworth hosted the Blue Army and charged back into the game in the second-half after being down 2-1 at the break.
Newark showed their versatility in attack with Jess Hogg and Connie Forman both scoring braces alongside Shelley Forster who netted the team’s other goal.
The difficult contest is a good lead up into the final of the county cup which Julie Roberts side won last year.
They will take on a University of Nottingham team on Sunday, May 19 at the RH Academy with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

A spokesman from the team said that they were hoping for a good crowd to cheer the team on as they look to become back-to-back champions of the competition.
The team will also be hosting their popular 24 team women’s tournament on Sunday, June 9 at the YMCA Newark and Sherwood Community and Activity Village.
The seven-a-side competition will cost teams £45 to enter, interested parties can register at ntlfctournament@gmail.com.
In Division Two of the Nottinghamshire Girls and Ladies Division One competition, Bingham Town currently sit in sixth place out of eight teams as they look to improve their standing by the end of the season.
Division Three sees Southwell City flying at the top of the competition with an 11 point lead.
Sven Richards’ side has rocketed up the table in their first year in recent times in the league.
They recently defeated near rivals Cotgrave 4-1 with Cerys Racher hitting a brace for the side.
Cotgrave currently sit in fourth position of the division with the Newark Town Development side coming sixth.
