“I just want to thank everybody at Newark Town Football Club for everything you do on and off the field,” said Chambers.

“Over the five years that I have been at the club, I've shown loyalty and commitment.

“I’ve tried to give 100% on that pitch every match and I was proud to Captain the side to our first promotion in years.

“I've scored many goals for this club but none of this would have been possible without all my teammates over the years.

“I also want to give thanks to my wife and kids who have always supported me.

“I’d like to give a big shout-out to all the fans for all that loyalty throughout the years, at the end of the season I will be handing my captaincy and I’ll be stepping away from the first team.

“I am ready to enjoy some time with my family injury-free.

“Come down on Saturday to give us one big push to get over the line and hopefully get this great club on the path to promotion.”
