Castle and Falcon are the champions again
The Castle and Falcon retained the Newark and District Pool League First Division title after finishing five points clear of rivals Wheatsheaf Whippersnappers.
They won 14 of their 16 league, losing just two matches over the course of the season.
Castle and Falcon players Neil Dodd and Steve Murphy also won the doubles competition and they and the rest of the team have asked for money rather than trophies so they can make a donation to Beaumond House Community Hospice in memory of their former team-mate Dave Aldridge who died in October.
Chesters Showboats took the Second Division honours, finishing five points clear of Rose and Crown Rockets, while Newark Working Men’s Club won the Division Three title, two points ahead of Royal Oak from Collingham.
The Broadway are the champions in Division Four, finishing five points ahead of runners-up Watermill, while the Wheatsheaf Sourz Boys topped Division Five, three clear of Bridge Inn.
