Epperstone’s George Gamble will return for a second season campaign in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship.
The reigning 2024 Porsche Champion disclosed his plans for the new season at the end of last week and will remain with his winning team Rosland Gold Racing by Century Motorsport, one of the leading sports cars and GT racing teams in the UK with over 28 years’ experience.
His office for the 16 rounds of the new season will be the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992 race car.
Gamble is set to defend his Porsche Carrera Cup GB title, a proven frontrunner, his consistency and race-winning performances saw him take the championship crown in style last season. He is now ready and waiting to build on the success as he takes on the 2025 grid.
This saw Gamble’s dynamic talent, his impressive achievements last season in the championship, with two previous seasons in the British Touring Car Championship and his well-rooted driving ability will bring a unique perspective to winning with the team.
As support races to the British Touring Car Championship, Gamble knows the circuits very well. He took part in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in a support race at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone the last year, as he did also in 2019.
The race series is no stranger to George, apart from last year that was phenomenal, he blasted the Porsche championship for two seasons during 2018 and 2019.
He finished his first season of 2018 in sixth spot, completing 16 races with three wins. He went on to better that in 2019 finishing third in Pro category, out of 15 races he won four races and took to the podium 10 times.
Gamble said “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back on the grid this season to defend my title!
“Last year was an unforgettable battle right down to the final moments, and securing the championship is something I’ll always cherish.
“This season brings a different kind of challenge, but after getting to grips with the RWD Porsche’s last year, I’m feeling confident and ready to hit the ground running.
“A huge thank you to my incredible sponsors for their continued support – none of this would be possible without them.
“It’s fantastic to be back with the team of Rosland Gold Racing by Century Motorsport and can’t wait to get the season underway!”
The team will run two cars in the series with a second car driven by South African Pro Driver Andrew Rackshaw, a former Formula Ford 1600 South African champion in 2021. New to the car, Gamble will be the man to help and advise Rackshaw.
Entering its 23rd Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship year, the season will feature 16 rounds of the single marque racing championship, with a full grid of the fastest one-make series in the UK. The cars, all the same, boast a four-litre six-cylinder boxer engine that delivers up to 510 hp and that’s impressive stuff.
With two high-calibre drivers and a team with such a proven track record, they will be one to watch once again during the new race season.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship starts at Donington Park on April 26-27 and rounds will be televised live on ITV4 during the season.
