Aaron Charlesworth from Balderton Cricket Club took four wickets for Great Boulder in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia
A cricketer from Balderton is making an impact for a team down under – humbling the opposition with his devastating bowling attack in their latest match.
Balderton Cricket Club player Aaron Charlesworth has been competing for Western Australia’s Great Boulder in the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association’s A-grade premiership and caught the eye with a great spell.
Charlesworth put a dent in the aspirations of last season's competition winners Lakeview as the side fell for just 83 runs.
The Nottinghamshire cricketer was instrumental in their collapse as he took an impressive haul of four wickets for just 14 runs.
Fellow Balderton teammate Tom Shephard also played in the match taking one wicket for 31 runs.
"It’s a lot easier to settle back into things being the second time back and I’m very much enjoying it.
"It’s great to have Shep here with me.
"He’s doing really well and I’m beyond proud of him.
"I had one training session before the first game and I just said to myself whatever happens during the second stint here just enjoy yourself and always play with a smile.
"I think that philosophy helped with the nerves and it worked well in the end as we secured a big win for the club.”
Great Boulder are the current competition leader and cruised to victory over The Viewers as the team won by seven wickets.
