Ollerton Rugby Club raise money for Alzheimer's Research Uk by completing a 84 mile Hadrian's Wall trail in under 24 hours




Alzheimer's Research Uk has benefited from a mammoth effort by a club to raise money for the organisation.

16 members of the Ollerton Rugby Club set off to complete a 84 mile Hadrian's Wall Path in under 24 hours.

The format was a relay event that saw groups completing stages throughout the 24-hour challenge.

The participants left from Wallend at 12pm on Saturday to complete the first stage as they walked all day and night across a large streach of the country following the path of the wall.

The challenge was completed on Sunday morning around 11.30am at the Kings Arms Pub in Bowness-on Solway.

The ages of the participants ranged from 18 to 65 and so far the amount the club has raised £1095 for the cause.

The current total stands at £1095 with more money to come in and a charity golf day at rufford golf course on the 27th July to raise further funds.
