Paige Jones, of Balderton, named lady compound champion at Nottinghamshire Indoor Archery County Championships




A 17-year-old says it was an amazing feeling to be named county champion.

Paige Jones, of Balderton, was on target at the Nottinghamshire Indoor Archery County Championships, where she shot an incredible 568/600 to win the title of lady compound champion.

“It was a huge deal for me to win,” said Jones, a member of Belvior Archers.

“I had to shoot really well and concentrate to make every shot count.

“It felt amazing being named champion.

“It made me feel like all the hard work I had put in finally came out.”

The Nottinghamshire shoot was an open event, with hundreds of competitors across multiple categories.

Jones, a former member of Team GB Archery, said she now plans to prepare for the outdoor season.

She said she had already set her sights on numerous competitions, which included national and local events.
