David Avanesyan, trained by Newark's Carl Greaves, named fighter of the year at 2020 EBU Awards




David Avanesyan has been named fighter of the year following a ruthless 12 months in the ring.

Avanesyan, who is trained by Newark’s Carl Greaves, was the winner of three accolades at the 2020 EBU Awards as he claimed fighter of the year, fight of the year for his first victory over Kerman Lejarraga and a special award having defended the title three times in 2019.

It follows three victories in calendar year and Greaves said the awards were a reflection of the hard work both Avanesyan and his team had put in.
