Newark Town continue to push for promotion with commanding 4-1 win over Lutterworth in the United Counties League Division One





Luke Parsons Newark Town side have cemented their prospects as promotion contenders as they continue to exceed expectations this season.

A 4-1 victory on the road against Lutterworth the latest in a season which has seen other big scorelines for The Blues in the United Counties League Division One.

Stalwart Alex Hales got Newark in front in the 12th minute with a goal to put the visitors up by one at half-time.

The second-half saw The Blues put the game out of reach as a brace by Lucus Cotterill and a goal from Tyler Smith sealing the victory despite a converted penalty from the hosts.

The Blues will now travel to Radford on Saturday before their final game of the season will see them host Blackstones at home on Saturday, April 20 (kick-off 3pm).

A spokesman from the team said they were hoping for a good crowd to support the side in their final home game of the season.
