Carl Greaves fighter Craig Derbyshire to take on Commonwealth champion Matt Windle for the Commonwealth Light Flyweight title belt
Carl Greaves is hoping a fight in the Cayman Islands will end in his 23rd champion being crowned.
Craig Derbyshire who is managed by Greaves will be challenging the Commonwealth champion Matt Windle on December 8 for the Commonwealth Light Flyweight title belt.
"This is a great opportunity for Craig," said Greaves.
"Craig really has turned his career around, from fighting the best prospects all over the country to again challenging for the Commonwealth title.
"He is now a championship contender with a chance to win a major title.
"Craig previously lost a close points decision for a Commonwealth title belt in his last fight so he will be looking to bounce back.
"Craig will be dropping down in weight class
"He is a two-time super flyweight English champion.
"Craig is fighting the champion who has made the weight before, this will be Craig's first time making weight.
"He has never had it easy in his career and has put in the work.
"He came over to spar in the gym this week and he is looking good."
