Meanwhile, Newark athlete Jan Bailey represented England for the third time on the international stage at the weekend.

Bailey was competing in the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Competing against the top masters athletes from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Northern Ireland on a tough, relentless course, Bailey more than held his own.

Racing at a furious pace, he scored crucial points for England and missed out on the gold by just one point to the Irish team. In the end, Bailey brought home a well-deserved team silver medal.
