The upcoming bout of Carl Greaves trained fighter Commonwealth champion Emma Dolan from Newark versus Anthony Joshua promoted fighter Shannon Ryan from Watford on the Matchroom Boxing promoted main event of Liam Dillon versus Reece Bellotti which will broadcast on DAZN for the vacant British Title with Dolan’s Super-flyweight Commonwealth title belt on the line has been called off
A much-anticipated fight that would have seen two of the country's best boxers compete for a vacant British title will not be going ahead on the planned date of February 10.
The bout between Commonwealth Super-flyweight champion Emma Dolan and highly regarded Shannon Ryan was called off after Dolan developed a serious chest infection.
The two had been due to meet at London's O2 venue on the undercard of the Matchroom Boxing promoted main event of Liam Dillon versus Reece Bellotti.
The ten-round scheduled fight would have been the first women's British Super-Flyweight title contest fought and Dolan's Commonwealth title was also on the line.
"It will get postponed," confirmed Dolan's Newark-based trainer, Carl Greaves.
"Unfortunately she has not been well, she has a chest infection.
"Emma needs to be at 100% for this title fight.
"We are hoping to reschedule in April or May but the main concern is to get her back to full health and for her to be fighting fit.
"The fight will definitely get postponed as Emma is the mandatory title challenger for the British belt."
The bout promises to be an exciting and entertaining contest for fight fans as it sees 6-0 undefeated Ryan who is managed by Anthony Joshua sporting the same 6-0 record Dolan currently holds.
Dolan successfully defended her Commonwealth title against Nicola Hopewell in October after winning it against Halima Vunjabei last March.
