FA confirm Newark Flowserve promotion to the Midlands Football League Premier Division (Midlands League Premier)
Newark Flowserve will be playing its football in the Premier Division of the Midlands Football League, the Football Association has announced.
The Highwaymen’s first season in step-five of non-league will see trips Coventry United, Long Eaton United and Worcester City — the latter a 220-mile round trip.
East Midlands Counties League rivals Selston will join Flowserve in the Midlands League Premier, alongside five newly promoted teams.
Promotion to step-five saw the appointment of club secretary, Kevin Presland, who begins his role on June 1.
The club said: “We would like to offer a warm welcome to home to Kevin, who is well respected throughout the game locally and a fantastic appointment for the whole club.”
The Lowfields club also announced their preseason schedule, which sees a stand-out tie against step-three side Grantham Town — Danny Meadows’ former club.
Craig Roche and Stephen Kirkham’s men kick-off their preseason friendlies on July 13 at Blidworth Welfare (3pm) before welcoming Grantham to Lowfields on July 16 (7.45pm).
Three away trips follow as Flowserve travel to Gedling Miners’ Welfare on July 20 (3pm) Kimberley Miners’ Welfare on July 23 (7.45pm) and Quorn AFC on July 27 (3pm).
Preseason will conclude at Lowfields with the visit of Basford United on August 3 (3pm).
