Flowserve bounce back with a 9-0 win over Nottingham Community in the Notts Senior League
Newark Flowserve Reserves hit nine without reply in their Notts Senior League Division Two tie against Nottingham Community, but despite the joy of the victory, manager Lee Julian highlighted the injury of a key payer.
He said: “I’d just like to say a big get well soon from the whole squad to Callum Barnes.
“Callum has been in great form recently and we hope he will have a speedy recovery from the knee injury he suffered last week.”
Barnes, who is out with a knee injury, was replaced by Ryan Pillborough, while other changes saw Leighton Nicholson and Ben Hage drop out of the starting 11 for Joe Craven and Ryan Pillborough.
Tyler Martin fired Flowsere’s first two of the afternoon, his latter a contended for goal of the season as he hit a 30-yard volley into the top corner.
Ed Munton hit Flowserve’s third, and put the game out of sight before half-time.
In the second-half, Martin added another two goals from good team moves to take his total for the day to four and his total for the season to 17 in 19.
Nicholson, Ashley, Pillborough and Craven were also on the scoresheet.
