More news, no ads

Getting more girls playing cricket will be part of a huge weekend of activities planned for Farndon Cricket Club.

It starts this evening (Friday) with a dynamo coaching session for girls aged eight to 11.

Taking place at Marsh Lane Playing Fields from 6pm, it will feature a special guest.

Club captain Martyn Hill is also the girls’ cricket development officer at Nottinghamshire.

He is enthusiastic about getting more girls and women into cricket.

At present, there are three female cricketers playing senior cricket at the club.

On Sunday, the club will hosts its President’s Day.

This will honour the families of those who helped build the current pavilion before they move into building their new facility.

A lunch will be put on for guests, including the ten past club presidents, after a match between Farndon Old Boys and the current Farndon team.
