Southwell Golf Club's Gerry Crerand on top at Nottinghamshire County Club Handicap

A Southwell golfer has won a county-wide event.

Southwell Golf Club member, Gerry Crerand, was victorious in the Nottinghamshire County Club Handicap competition at Coxmoor Golf Club.

Members of 27 clubs from the Nottinghamshire Golf Union won qualification medals at their individual clubs to enter the event.

Crerand shot an impressive net 68, four under par, to secure a four shot victory margin over second place Charlie Cooke, from Newark Golf Club.

Crerand said it was an honour to represent Southwell and win a course as tough as Coxmoor.
