Trio of racing brothers, the Gambles, experience Silverstone and Donington Park with some success




Epperstone’s motor racing Gamble family trio had a very busy weekend (April 27 and 28) that

saw awards reaped at Donington Park and Silverstone, writes Paul Horton.

All three racing driver brothers George, Tom and Harry Gamble were in action.

Eldest brother, 27-year-old George took a podium second place in an action-packed race in

the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain Championship at Leicestershire’s Donington Park

circuit, whilst 25-year-old Harry took two podiums at Silverstone, in the Ginetta GT Academy

Championship.

The weekend started well for the youngest Brother and McLaren factory driver Tom, as he led the

British GT Championship endurance race at Silverstone until the driver change unfortunately his teammate crash out of the event.

It was George’s debut appearance this season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain Championship racing with the Rosland Gold Racing by Century Motorsport team.

His weekend got off to a great start, Thursday’s two Free Practice sessions saw him top the combined leader board for both sessions.

Gamble was on the third row for the race after qualifying as sixth fastest.

Straight away Gamble was into third by end of lap one after a three-lap safety car period followed, bunching the cars together.

After moving up into second, Gamble’s car got caught up in the incident that saw Gamble on two wheels

with some damage, but he kept the car going.

Gamble remained in second as he took the chequered flag.

George’s younger Brother Harry, aged 25 and a newcomer to the sport, had equally a great

weekend in the Ginetta GT Academy Championship at Silverstone qualifying in second.

Harry ended up crossing the line third in the first race and second in the following contest to secure his two podium finishes.

For Tom Gamble in the British GT Championship at Silverstone, he in a combined place of fifth.

Gamble performed well before switching with his driver Mark Radcliffe jump in, who crashed not long after the change.

The incident saw Gamble’s race over.

Radcliffe was later confirmed as being fine after receiving medical attention.
