Hat-trick secures win for Collingham

By Advertiser Reporter

Chris Funnell marked Collingham’s return to action after a three-week lay-off with an important hat-trick.

Three goals in the final half-hour boosted their chances of a second-placed finish in the Central Midlands League North Division

Funnell put the home side in front on 40 minutes, but Liam West equalised four minutes later.

Collingham’s lead was restored by Funnell in the 63rd minute and, as the wind and snow increased, Ash Coatsworth netted nine minutes from time.

Funnell completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute to seal their 16th win of the season.
