Bilsthorpe`s Vanessa Holmes from Nottinghamshire finishes eighth in the Lanzarote four day mountain bike Club la Santa stage race

Bilsthorpe`s Vanessa Holmes racing for the JackRabbit MTB Team travelled to Lanzarote to compete in the four-day mountain bike Club la Santa stage race.

Holmes finished eighth in the elite women`s category classification and was pleased to finish such an arduous challenge.

The four-stage mountain bike race in Lanzarote, an official UCI MTB Event, brings a new racing format including the e-bikes as a leisure category.

With four days of adventure and exciting mountain bike racing, the MTB race challenged elite and amateur riders.

The course flowed through the toughest and most stunning scenery in Lanzarote through its difficult trails alongside sand and lava fields.

Isabel Darvill`s next planned race will be the March CICLI Melton Classic Women`s Race, followed by the Belgium Classic Brugge De Panne.
