Newark’s Jeny Humphries earns second win at the English Bowling Federation finals
Newark’s Jeny Humphries has been crowned ladies champion for the second time at the English Bowling Federation finals.
More than 100 bowlers from across the UK competed at English Bowling Federation finals, which was hosted by Newark Indoor Bowls Centre.
Humphries, who plays at Newark Indoor Bowls Centre, beat her Durham-based opponent 21-14 in the final — a title she last won in 2016.
In front of a supportive home crowd, she eased through the early rounds winning 21-4 and 21-2 before earning a 21-6 victory in the semi-final.
Humphries also played in the Ladies Pairs event with Newark’s Gail Donnison, but the duo were beaten 19-14 in a very tactical game by Derbyshire pair Jeannie Baker and Pauline Marples, who were the tournament winners.
