Carl Greaves’ trained boxer Stanley Stannard looks to punish his opponent Ashlee Eales in his quest to become Midlands super welterweight boxing champion

Super Stanley Stannard will be looking to turn his undefeated opponent Ashlee ‘Real Deal’ Eales into a meal deal as the hungry fighter looks to devour the vacant Midlands area super welterweight title.

The bout will take place at Leicester’s Morningside Arena on March 2, showcasing an evening of boxing entertainment with the title belt bout headlining the event.

Eales is the only obstacle in Stannard’s way as the Carl Greaves’ trained boxer, who operates out of Newark, looks to gain the title and bounce back from the only defeat in his career so far.

Stannard lost his last fight against current English champion Lee Cutler seven weeks after having elbow surgery and is the first to admit that it was not his best performance.

“Lee was the better man on the night in a close fight and I can’t excuse that but that was a bad performance from myself,” said Stannard who now sports a 10-1 record.

The King of the Midlands event is promoted by Greaves and will feature an action-packed night of boxing.

The upcoming main bout on the card will see two southpaws go up against each other with both Stannard and Eales achieving several knockouts during their professional careers.

“There are 12 fights in total in the 3,000 seat arena and it will be a great evening of entertainment,” said Greaves.

“I am really excited about this show, I think it is the best venue in the East Midlands for me.

“I’ve always enjoyed promoting there and it has been a year since we were there last.

“We have an undercard full of talent, chief support is one of my boxers Callum Blockley who is 11 fights undefeated and will fight in an English Welterweight eliminator against Jacob Quinn from Halifax.”

Carl Greaves said that Stannard was chomping at the bit in his quest to be the new area champion.

“Ashlee will be a tough opponent on the headliner for Stan,” said Greaves.

“He has nine wins so it will be a great competitive fight.

“However, I think this contest will bring out the best in Stan who is determined to win the title.

“There have been a few things said on social media and Stan will be looking to punish his opponent.”
