Injury forces Chad '2 Slick' to withdraw from Sebastian Slusarcyzk fight
Injury has forced Chad ‘2 Slick’ Sugden to pull out of his upcoming bout.
The Suggy’s Gym 24-year-old was scheduled to take on the hard-hitting and unbeaten Sebastian Slusarcyzk on a card that also features his younger brother Regis ‘The First’ Sugden, who is set to make his professional boxing debut.
Newark fighter Chad sustained injuries while his youngest brother Bailey ‘Badboy’ Sugden was competing on Glory 63, in Houston, Texas
“In a week when we should have been celebrating Bailey’s big win, the news that Chad’s fight won’t be going ahead next month is a blow to us all,” said Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden.
“We chose to make the decision about withdrawing sooner rather than later, but we are confident that this is just a postponement and that the contest between Chad and Sebastian will be re-arranged for a later date.”
Despite the injury, the show will go on, and Regis will take centre stage in Nottingham’s Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday, March 16.
Dean said: “Regis is looking strong and sharp as he heads into the final weeks of his training camp and we are all excited at the prospect of him taking this first step to a new career in pro boxing.
“Chad will be at the show, helping me in Regis’s corner, and we hope that his fans and followers will still come out in force to support Regis on the night.”
Tickets remain available for the show, and can be bought on 07816 840920.
