Newark Alliance First Division : Last-minute spot kick saved

A late penalty stop by Michael Hinder earned bottom side Newark Cavaliers a point in a goalless draw at Collingham.

The keeper was in inspired form, making a triple save in the first-half, while Collingham hit the woodwork twice at corners.

Hinder was called into action again in the second-half to stop Gary Clark’s volley from point-blank range.

Arron Simpson was sent-off for Cavaliers as Collingham were awarded the last-minute penalty, but Hinder’s heroics continued with the excellent save.

The result moved Collingham up a place to second, although the teams below them have games in hand.

The match between Old Magnusians and Walesby was called off because Old Magnusians could not raise a team
