Calum Law stunner earns Southwell City three points in Notts Senior League Premier Division

By Connor Thompson

SOUTHWELL CITY continued their excellent run in the Notts Senior League Premier Division as an 88th minute winner from Callum Law separated them from Eastwood CFC Development.

Law, who returned to the starting line-up, won the free kick after turning his man on the edge of the box and fired a powerful strike into the top right corner.

City’s Blair Bryant had an earlier chance to break the deadlock, but other than that, the game was stifled of clear-cut opportunities.

On Saturday, City travel to seventh-placed AFC Dunkirk as they continue their Premier Division title chase.

Radcliffe Olympic’s 5-0 loss to Wollaton was Rory Downs’ last match in charge of the 15th-placed club as he resigned after the final whistle.

Having taken the lead through Pierce Hallam, Aslockton and Orston’s seven-match winning streak came to an end as Stapleford Town came back to win 2-1.
