LEARN MOREA member of Newark Castle Archers has been crowned Maid Marian after her shooting exploits.
Recurve archer Marti Waterfield attended the traditional Golden Arrow shoot at Sherwood Archers in Southwell.
This shoot, run with support from Nottinghamshire Archery Society, is steeped in history.
Competitors have six dozen arrows shot at 60 yards.
Marti, who is Newark Castle Archers’ club secretary, shot a brilliant round and took the title of Maid Marion this year.
Marti also shot on Sunday county league competition combined with the Oregan challenge with colleagues in the US.
Marti took the ladies’ recurve title in that competition as well. It was a great finish to her competitive shooting as Marti takes time away from competition to have a baby.
