And there were mixed results for the club with Deivid Paulauskas and Thomas Newbury both losing their bouts by decision, while Robert Morton defeated L. Jones from Kenton.

Deivid is the current East Midlands u64kg junior champion.

Coach Esham Pickering said: “The three fighters fought well and gained valuable experience.

“The win was a bonus. They all enjoy their boxing and each of them have promising futures in the sport.”

The club, which is based at Millgate, is a community-based club that welcomes everyone, said Pickering.

“We do a lot of work getting kids off the street and teaching them to box, it is great for self discipline,” he said. “We also have a number of members from the Travelling community, they are supportive and helpful with great attitudes.”
