Newark Athletic Club participate in the North Mids Cross Country League series as their runners achieve success




Newark Athletic Club had a successful competition at the final race of the North Mids Cross Country League series.

The competitive league takes place between October and January.

It features four races which saw clubs from all across the Midlands, South Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire compete.

The Men's team finished in third place overall for the league and finished second in the event.

David Robinson also finished as the third V40-44 runner in the league.

In the final race, Newark also produced the men’s winner, Ed Buck who came home 16 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher along the 10K course.

In the women’s race, Elizabeth Wynn-Jones was first across the line for Newark in 30th place along the 8K course and Gillian Newbould finished in 36th place.

Jasmine Braithwaite finished second in the under-17 race and Amy Newbould crossed the line in sixth place.

Braithwaite finished second overall for the league in her age group.
