Newark Town manager Luke Parsons put outs a rally call to the town to help get his side promoted
A football club has put out a rallying call for its fans to join them as they have secured a home draw for this Saturday’s play-off match at the YMCA (kick-off 3pm).
Newark Town Football Club will host Dunkirk in a bid to achieve promotion from the United Counties League Division One competition into the league’s step five competition, the Premier Division North.
“This season you, the fans have been absolutely incredible,” said Newark Town manager Luke Parsons.
“You have helped us achieve our aim of securing a play-off position.
“This time last year you followed us all the way out to Birstall to support us in our play-off semi-final.
“Unfortunately that day it wasn’t to be.
“Newark has always been a well-supported town.
“I am asking you to come out in numbers again this Saturday for our home draw this Saturday for a 3pm kick-off.
“Let’s get the YMCA rocking.”
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has come and supported this year both home and away,” said Newark Town stalwart Jammy Lloyd.
“You have been our twelfth man at times and have played a pivotal part in getting us to the play-offs.”
An official from the club added that they hope a good-sized crowd attend the play-off fixture on Saturday to help get the club over the line.
