Newark's ice hockey star Jodie Bloom named as one of Team GB's best in Olympic Qualifiers
Jodie Bloom was named as one of Team GB’s players of the tournament in the Women’s Olympic Qualifiers.
Great Britain missed out on a place in final qualifying games for the Winter Olympics despite an heroic performance in a 1-0 victory over Korea in Nottingham.
Korea, ranked seven places above GB in the world rankings, progressed to the next stage in place of GB on goal difference, despite their loss.
GB finished second in the four-team group following their 5-0 win over Iceland and 2-1 defeat to Slovenia.
Bloom, of Newark, was named as GB’s third best player of the group stage, which was played in front of record attendances for women’s hockey in the UK.
