No denting international progress for Josh
Teenage hockey star Josh Dent helped Great Britain Colleges to victories over Scotland on three successive days
.The 17-year-old, of Coddington, who played in centre midfield in Edinburgh, was one of 22 players who made it through national trials at the end of last year.
Great Britain Colleges won 2-1 on Friday and followed that with 5-0 and 6-2 successes.
Dent adapted to a new role for the college squad as he usually plays left wing.
The former Newark Hockey Club player, now with Boots Hockey Club, said he enjoyed the experience with the national side.
“It was good. I got more minutes (on the pitch) than I thought I would. It was a lot of hard work, but great,” he said.
“I played in the centre of midfield, holding the team together more than going forward in attack.
“I did get to go forward every now and then, however, and be part of a short-corner routine or two, which was good.
“I enjoyed looking at the body shape and positions of other players, and trying to read the game.”
