Newark Castle archer tastes success at British Target Championships at Lilleshall

A Newark archer competed at the British Target Championships for the first time on Saturday.

Newark Castle Archers’ Mandie Elson came away from the event, held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, with a personal best in the ladies’ barebow category.

Finishing in 12th place, she said she enjoyed the challenge.

The scheduled second day of the event, organised by Archery GB, was cancelled as strong winds made the shooting dangerous.
