Newark Rugby Club seal Notts, Lincs & Derbys youth treble

Newark Rugby Club have completed a treble of age group titles.

Treble-winning status was earned by the club when the under-15s joined the under-14s and under-16s, who had won the previous week.

The under-15s enjoyed a convincing win over Sleaford in the final of the Notts, Lincs & Derbys organised competition.

The Newark team won 79-0 to join the under-14s who had defeated Stamford 24-14, and under-16s who had overcome Derby 31-22.

Newark’s 1st XV did play their final fixture.

Their intended match against Market Rasen, in the Notts, Lincs & Derbys Shield, was cancelled when the Lincolnshire team decided they could not field a recognised front row.

It is intended to play the final of the competition, against either Ilkeston or Long Eaton, as a pre-season match in late August.
