A school netball team are among the East Midland’s best.

Barnby Road Academy’s netballers finished fifth at Derby’s regional finals, which rounded off a successful season.

The school finished joint-second in the 12 team tournament, but less goal difference saw them miss out on a spot in the semi-finals.

“It makes us the fifth best team in the East Midlands,” said Sarah Gore, coach of the team.

“I am very proud of all the team and their achievements this year.”

Gore said the regional placing had topped off an amazing season.
