Former England footballer David Platt visits Ollerton Town Football Club in Nottinghamshire





Children at an area football club were delighted when a former national player walked through their doors recently.

David Platt who played for teams as varied as Juventus, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest arrived at the club while several young players were in attendance.

Platt who played for England 62 times visited the club to meet with officials and discussed football during what has been a difficult period for the club.

The club, which has faced its fair share of challenges, including management changes and player shortages, has shown resilience and an unwavering commitment to keeping local football alive in Ollerton.

A spokesman from the club said they enjoyed having Platt visit them and his attendance had been a big hit
