Steele said: “I just felt a rush of excitement go through my body and I feel more than ready for this step up.

“I feel very confident about this.

“I’m hoping to step up the levels as soon as I can because I’m always up for a challenge.”

Esham Pickering, his trainer, said: “They (the England coaches) are impressed with him.

“He is going to go along way — he’s the real deal.”

A venue is yet to be confirmed.
