Wolverhampton continued to be industrious and direct, but Newark held firm thanks to strong tackling from the whole team and strong running out of defence from Josh Ashe.

The second half saw the two sides battle it out but it would prove to be Newark’s day as the match ended with a 33-27 scoreline.

Newark women’s rugby team lost 61-10 on the road against a highly experienced Market Bosworth team.
