Reb Peacock from YMCA Activity Village Newark comes fifth at the World Natural Strength Competition Championships in Edinburgh
A fitness coach is making waves and inspiring people after making it to the World Natural Strength Competition Championships.
Reb Peacock who is a fitness coach at The YMCA Newark secured fifth place in the event as she competed in the under-57kg category.
it was a tough road to the world championships for the fitness instructor as Peacock claimed the top spot in the Northern Qualifier.
Peacock took third place in the Midlands while competing against athletes nearly 20 years younger.
The 55-year-old managed to secure a personal best deadlift record of 140kg, an impressive 10kg increase from her previous benchmark.
"We all supported each other at the world championships, and I came away with friends for life," said Peacock.
She added that she is committed to her fitness journey and is looking forward to competing in more events.
In February, she will take part in the England qualifier for the World Championships.
If she succeeds there, she could be recognised as the strongest woman in England.
Peacock runs strong classes tailored for men and women at The YMCA.
The classes take place throughout the week with Strong sessions happening on Fridays at 5.30pm.
