Newark Swimming Club enjoy brilliant first weekend at the 2025 Nottinghamshire ASA County Championships




Newark Swimming Club had an incredible nine qualifiers competing at the first weekend of the 2025 Nottinghamshire ASA County Championships.

For many it was their first County Championships and long course competition, gaining invaluable competitive experience at a high level.

Newark's swimmers showed great effort and skill in achieving long-course personal bests in every race. There were also several qualification times for the 2026 championships already in the bag.

Sasha Romanovskij won the 10/11yrs male 200m breaststroke in 3min18.76sec and was fourth in the 50m freestyle (34.57) and sixth in the 100m backstroke (1.27.84).

Lucia Chivers produced an excellent time of 29.77 in the 13yrs female 50m freestyle final, a time that would have medalled in both the 14 and 15yrs finals.

James Forgione finished sixth with 36.42 in the 10/11yrs male 50m freestyle final while Thomas Ho was the fourth fastest (26.55) in the 17yrs 50m freestyle.

It was a thoroughly exciting first weekend of the Championships for the Newark team.
