Newark Rugby Club insititue new touch competition as their 2nds fight for a semi-final berth
The Newark Rugby Club 2nds won 45-12 over their district rivals Southwell.
This now concludes the season for the Southwell 2nds team.
The Newark side will now face Paviors 2nds at Kelham Road on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) in their quest to gain a spot in the semi-finals.
Tonight, on Friday, April 28, the club will be hosting an under-16 match against Ashfield in memory of Louise Fisher who died suddenly in November.
The family are seeking to raise a target of £500 for the Alzheimer's Society.
Kick-off is at 7pm at Kelham Road, Newark.
The Newark club has instituted a touch football festival that will occur from June 7 to July 26, on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
The events are is free for all but people will need to sign up prior to the start of the festival.

The age groups cover boys and girls competitions, as well as men’s and women’s.
On Saturday, the Southwell 1st side will be on the road to play Mellish the NLD Shield Quarter-final.
Sunday sees the Southwell under-13 side playing in the NLD final against Nottingham Casuals, which is being played at Derby RFC.
Sunday will also be the last game of the season for the Southwell Minis as they play at home against Corsairs.
The Southwell Rugby Club will host a end of season community day and junior presentations on Saturday, June 24.
Bingham Rugby Club 1sts defeated Rolls Royce Rugby Club 26-12.
Bingham will be hosting their annual dinner and presentation night on Friday, May 19.
