Newark Nationals Baseball Club are beaten by the Leicester Blue Sox
The Newark Nationals Baseball Club endured a tough afternoon at Leicester against the Blue Sox.
They fielded a mixed team of development players and two Great Britain representatives against a strong Blue Sox side.
Newark opened the batting in game one and a scoreless innings gave them an early 5-0 lead.
They extended that to 14-9 but the speed of the Blue Sox took over as they ran out 15-19 winners.
The second game went down to the wire with a final score of 13-12 despite the Nationals suffering a pitching injury.
It was a difficult two games for the Nationals who will take these losses as a chance to develop their defensive side of the game.
