Volunteers recognised at award’s night at Newark Rugby Club, Nottinghamshire
Volunteers have been recognised at the Newark Rugby Club's annual volunteer awards.
The John Lawrence Trophy was presented to Andy Rush, a long-serving mini and youth coach.
The award is named after former Newark player John Lawrence and has been presented by his wife in his memory since the year 2000.
Rush was among a dozen volunteers who gained awards at a presentation night on Friday.
Besides the main award, another 12 awards were made to thank the contributions made by a large number of people over the season.
Award winners included mini coach Steve Hogg, mini age group co-ordinator Bob Brookling, mini volunteer Jason Harrison, youth coach Chris Coen, youth volunteer Gary Henderson, youth team manager Lucie Sheldon, and girls group volunteer, Sophie Hart.
Paul Hubbard was awarded as a senior rugby volunteer.
David Rhodes was awarded as Tuesday club volunteer.
Special recognition to mini and youth rugby went to Andy Rush.
Rounding out the accolades was Bob Walker who was recognised as the best club supporter.
