Harvey Lack achieves a silver medal in the East Midland qualifiers for fencing at Nottingham Trent University




A young Newark fencer has shown great promise after finishing second in the East Midland qualifiers for the British Youth Championships as he competed in an age group above.

13-year-old Harvey Lack competed in the under-14 men’s foil event where he earned a silver medal for his efforts.

Lack competed against in a field of five at Nottingham Trent University and was only defeated by a competitor who is on the British team.

The British Youth Championships will be held in Sheffield across the three days of the first May Bank Holiday weekend where Lack will take part in the contest.

Lack started fencing at 8 years old with Doncaster Fencing Club before his family moved to Newark.

He now trains with the North Kesteven Fencing Club.
