Comedy duo Cannon and Ball launched this year’s pantomime season at Lincoln Theatre Royal.

Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball are back at the theatre for a second year — this time as the Chinese Policeman in Aladdin, which runs from December 15 to January 16.

Tommy said: “We had a great time in Lincoln last Christmas. It was not a hard decision to make when we were asked to come back. We’re really looking forward to getting back out on the stage and making people laugh.”

Bobby said: “The Chinese Policemen are the comic heart of Aladdin and we’re so excited to have the chance to bring our brand of humour to the roles.

“We know it’s going to be another great season and we can’t wait to get started.”

The pair were joined by Michelle Hardwick, from ITV’s The Royal, who will play Princess Jasmine. Michelle said: “The Theatre Royal has such a special atmosphere which makes it perfect for pantomime. Princess Jasmine is a great role for me to play. I get to sing and dance and wear such wonderful costumes.”

Children will have singing and acting roles in the show, which has been produced by the Lincoln Repertory Company.
