Arts centre marks 25 years of exhibitions
There will be plenty of pomp and circumstance when a band and professional artists help an arts centre mark its quarter of a century.
The celebrations take place on August 10 and 11 and members of the public are invited to join in.
Owner Chas Wood said: “The anniversary programme is packed with activities for all the family, exhibitions, official openings, competitions and walks. Everything is free.”
Visitors to Patchings Arts Centre in Calverton are urged to bring picnics on both days, enjoying live music and free activities with the family as they look back over the last 25 years.
On the Saturday professional artists will be at work, and there will be a drawing competition for all ages and abilities. Visitors can contribute to a historic painting and be entertained with live music.
A new Art Timeline Walk will be officially opened within the grounds of Patchings, and there will be exhibitions on paintings by How To Paint authors and The Story Of Patchings.
On the Sunday, the drawing competition and exhibitions continue.
At 2pm a recently renovated and artistically designed well will be opened, followed by Proms music from the Nottingham Concert Band at 3pm. Visitors are asked to bring their own chairs or rugs.
